“The Blessed Migration – Hijrah of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)”

This masterfully crafted paper-cutting artwork illustrates the historic and sacred migration (Hijrah) of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) from Makkah to Madinah. Through intricate patterns and symbolic imagery, the artist beautifully narrates this transformative journey, capturing its hardships, miracles, and divine significance.

At the bottom center of the artwork, the Kaaba is prominently featured, signifying the Prophet’s departure from Makkah. Surrounding the Kaaba, thorny patterns depict the hardships and persecution inflicted upon the Muslims by the unbelievers. Next to the Kaaba, the Key of the Kaaba is incorporated, symbolizing the severe challenges and the closed doors of peace that forced the Prophet (PBUH) to migrate.

Above the Kaaba, a unique depiction merges two significant events: the recitation of Surah Yasin and the Prophet’s concealment in the cave. This is represented by intricate circular calligraphy of Surah Yasin, interwoven with a spider’s web, symbolizing the miraculous moment when Allah protected the Prophet (PBUH) and Hazrat Abu Bakr (RA) from their pursuers in the Cave of Thawr.

Moving upwards, the artwork illustrates the Prophet’s departure with Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddique (RA), traveling on camels through the night. A group of sword-wielding soldiers in the foreground captures the immense danger and tension under which the migration took place.

Further up, the scene of Saraqa bin Malik’s horse sinking into the sand is meticulously designed, symbolizing divine intervention when he pursued the Prophet but was miraculously halted. Beyond this, the mountains and the historical Hijrah route leading to Madinah are depicted, emphasizing the arduous journey undertaken by the Prophet (PBUH).

At the top, the grand Masjid an-Nabawi stands as a symbol of the Prophet’s blessed arrival in Madinah. Surrounding the mosque, birds and flowers flourish, signifying the joy, peace, and prosperity that followed the Prophet’s migration.

This artwork is a profound visual narrative of faith, resilience, and divine protection, inviting viewers to reflect on the Hijrah as a turning point in Islamic history, a testament to unwavering faith in Allah’s plan.

Framing is currently offered within Perth, Australia only. Because paper-cutting artworks are delicate and dimensional, framing is a little different to standard prints. I recommend a “floating” presentation, sandwiched between two pieces of glass so the artwork stays protected and visible from both sides.

If you’re in Perth, I can arrange framing and deliver to you. If you’re outside Perth, please message me with your location and I’ll share the best options and next steps.
