This artwork is about the migration of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) from Makkah to Madinah Al-Munawarah.
When the Quraysh of Makkah started plotting to kill the Prophet (PBUH) in Dar al-Nandwah, Jibreel informed the Prophet (PBUH) of the plots of the Quraysh on behalf of his Lord. The Prophet (PBUH) was allowed to migrate from Makkah to Madinah. After that, the Prophet (PBUH) travelled to the cave of Thor in Makkah in the dark of night.
When the Prophet (PBUH) came out from his home, he was reciting Surah Yasin from verses one to nine. With the blessing of these verses, Allah had temporarily blinded the disbelievers. And the disbelievers did not see the Prophet (PBUH) passing in front of their eyes.
After leaving Makkah, the Holy Prophet (PBUH) stayed with Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddique (RA) in Ghar Thaor, and then at the appropriate time, the Prophet (PBUH) started his journey from there to Madinah on three camels.
A horse can be seen sunken in the sand on the right side of the artwork. On the way to Madinah, Saraqa bin Malik, challenged him and tried to block the way of the Prophet (PBUH). He could not come closer to the Prophet (PBUH).
In the History of Islam, Part I, author Maulana Akbar Shah Khan Najibabadi writes that the name of the camel of the Prophet (PBUH) was Al-Qaswa. Abu Bakr Siddique (RA) and his servants were riding on the second camel. On the third camel, Abdullah bin Ariqz, who was the guide, rode. Thus, this short caravan of four men left Makkah towards Madinah.
An attempt has been made to show the green dome depicting the Prophet’s Mosque on top of it. A beautiful green glossy paper is used in the second layer to make the green dome. A fine floral arch is made on top of the mosque, to show how the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was welcomed in Madinah by making white peace birds. All the people of Medina happily stood on both sides of the Prophet’s path and little girls climbed on the roof and started reciting poetry. Tal al-Badr Alina.
In this artwork, the Zamzam sequence of the previous art is also continued at the bottom.
Framing is currently offered within Perth, Australia only. Because paper-cutting artworks are delicate and dimensional, framing is a little different to standard prints. I recommend a “floating” presentation, sandwiched between two pieces of glass so the artwork stays protected and visible from both sides.
If you’re in Perth, I can arrange framing and deliver to you. If you’re outside Perth, please message me with your location and I’ll share the best options and next steps.
Every artwork is an original, hand-crafted piece by Tusif Ahmad. Each order includes a signed authenticity card.
