This beautiful and intricately detailed paper-cutting artwork elegantly portrays the Quranic story of Prophet Yunus (Jonah, peace be upon him). The artwork vividly captures the turmoil and intensity of the scene through swirling, circular ocean waves symbolizing the trials and tribulations experienced by Prophet Yunus.
On one side, a large fish is prominently depicted—representing the whale that, by Allah’s command, swallowed Prophet Yunus. On the opposite side, a boat struggles amidst powerful waves, emphasizing the drama and urgency of the event.
A striking feature of this piece is the depiction of Prophet Yunus’s heartfelt prayer emerging from the mouth of the fish, beautifully illustrating his plea for forgiveness:
“La ilaha illa anta subhanaka inni kuntu minaz zalimeen”
(“There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers.”)
At the bottom, large leaves are carefully illustrated, symbolizing the shelter and shade that Allah provided Prophet Yunus after the fish released him by Allah’s command onto the shore.

یہ خوبصورت اور مفصّل پیپر کٹنگ آرٹ ورک قرآنِ پاک میں بیان کردہ حضرت یونس علیہ السلام کے واقعے کو نہایت فنکارانہ انداز میں پیش کرتا ہے۔ اس فن پارے میں سمندر کی تلاطم خیز لہروں کو گول گول چکر کھاتے ہوئے دکھایا گیا ہے، جو حضرت یونسؑ کے واقعے کی کشمکش اور آزمائش کی علامت ہیں۔ ایک جانب بڑی سی مچھلی کو واضح طور پر دکھایا گیا ہے، جو حضرت یونسؑ کو نگلنے کے لیے اللہ تعالیٰ کی طرف سے مقرر کی گئی تھی۔ دوسری طرف، سمندر کی لہروں میں ہچکولے کھاتی ہوئی کشتی دکھائی گئی ہے، جو واقعے کے ڈرامائی پہلو کو ظاہر کرتی ہے۔
فن پارے کی سب سے اہم بات مچھلی کے منہ سے نکلتی ہوئی وہ دعا ہے جسے حضرت یونسؑ نے مچھلی کے پیٹ میں پڑھا تھا:
“لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ إِنِّي كُنْتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ”
(تیرے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں، تو پاک ہے، بےشک میں ہی ظالموں میں سے ہوں۔)
فن پارے کے نچلے حصے میں پھیلے ہوئے بڑے پتّے اس منظر کی عکاسی کرتے ہیں جب مچھلی نے اللہ تعالیٰ کے حکم سے حضرت یونسؑ کو دریا کے کنارے ڈال دیا تھا، اور اللہ تعالیٰ نے ان پتّوں کے ذریعے انہیں سایہ فراہم کیا تھا۔
یہ فن پارہ ایمان، توبہ، اور اللہ تعالیٰ کی رحمت کے تصور کو نہایت مؤثر انداز میں پیش کرتا ہے اور دیکھنے والوں کو غور و فکر اور روحانی فکر کی دعوت دیتا ہے۔

يُجسّد هذا العمل الفني الجميل والدقيق المصنوع من قص الورق (فن التفريغ الورقي) قصة النبي يونس عليه السلام، التي ورد ذكرها في القرآن الكريم، بأسلوب فني إبداعي ومعبر للغاية. تظهر في اللوحة أمواج البحر المتلاطمة، وحوت ضخم فاغرًا فمه ليلتقم النبي يونس عليه السلام، كما نرى في الجهة الأخرى سفينةً تصارع الأمواج، لتعكس الدراما وقوة الحدث.
من أبرز ملامح هذا العمل الفني ظهور دعاء النبي يونس عليه السلام وهو يخرج من فم الحوت بشكلٍ جميلٍ ومؤثر، وذلك عندما كان في بطن الحوت مناجيًا ربه طالبًا العفو والمغفرة:
«لا إله إلا أنت سبحانك إني كنت من الظالمين»
وفي الجزء السفلي من العمل الفني أوراق كبيرة ترمز إلى الشجرة التي ظللت النبي يونس عليه السلام بعدما أمر الله تعالى الحوت بإلقائه على شاطئ البحر ليحميه من حرارة الشمس.
يُبرز العمل الفني بعمق معاني الإيمان، والتوبة، ورحمة الله الواسعة، ويدعو المشاهد للتفكر والتأمل الروحي في هذه القصة القرآنية العظيمة.
