This artwork is a creative interpretation of Surah Al-Fatihah, the opening chapter of the Holy Quran, elegantly depicted through the symbolism of a balanced scale. The artwork visually represents the deep spiritual concept described by Dr. Israr Ahmad, who explained that Surah Al-Fatihah comprises two distinct dialogues: the first three verses embody human praise for Allah, while the last three reflect Allah’s response to humanity.
The paper-cutting technique intricately highlights this balanced dialogue. The scales symbolize harmony between the praise offered by human beings (on one side) and the compassionate response from Allah (on the other side). The carefully cut calligraphy gracefully flows along both sides, emphasizing equilibrium between gratitude and divine mercy. The central ornate pillar not only balances the artwork visually but also represents the spiritual balance that Surah Al-Fatihah establishes between human submission and divine guidance.
Incorporating traditional Islamic motifs, floral patterns, and geometric designs, the artwork expresses both the beauty and complexity of spiritual interaction. Framing is currently offered within Perth, Australia only. Because paper-cutting artworks are delicate and dimensional, framing is a little different to standard prints. I recommend a “floating” presentation, sandwiched between two pieces of glass so the artwork stays protected and visible from both sides.

This is a 100% original, physical artwork. It is hand-cut from vinyl using a surgical knife. It is not printed, lasered, or machine-made in any way.
Can I request a custom size?
Original artworks are one-of-a-kind and come in the specified dimensions. However, we do accept commissions for bespoke pieces. Please contact us via the contact form.
How do I frame it?
The artwork arrives unrolled in a tube. We recommend professional custom framing with a 'float mount' to showcase the edges of the artwork, or a shadow box frame to emphasize the depth of the cuts.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we offer free worldwide shipping on all original artworks (unframed). We use premium couriers (DHL/FedEx) to ensure safe and fast delivery. Insurance is available on request.
What is your return policy?
We accept returns provided the artwork is received back in good condition. Return shipping and any related charges are the responsibility of the client.
