These final two verses of Surah Al-Baqarah are a divine dialogue of faith, mercy, and spiritual surrender. They encapsulate the essence of a believer’s relationship with Allah—rooted in trust, obedience, and hope.
The first verse (2:285) affirms the unity of belief between the Prophet ﷺ and the faithful:
“The Messenger has believed in what was revealed to him from his Lord, and so have the believers…”
It is a declaration of faith that transcends individual ego, as the believers proclaim:
“We hear and we obey. Forgive us, our Lord. To You is the final return.”
A moment of collective submission — where intellect, heart, and soul align in obedience and humility.
The final verse (2:286) is a profound mercy.
“Allah does not burden a soul beyond what it can bear…”
It reminds us that every trial is perfectly measured, and every hardship comes with divine awareness. The verse flows like a supplication — seeking pardon, protection from error, and deliverance from oppression.
These verses are both a covenant and a comfort, a prayer whispered in the silence of night and a shield in times of weakness. Many Muslims recite them before sleeping, as the Prophet ﷺ said they suffice for whoever reads them at night.

سورۃ البقرہ کی یہ آخری دو آیات ایمان، رحمت، اور روحانی تسلیم و رضا کا ایک بلیغ مکالمہ ہیں۔ یہ ایک مؤمن کے اللہ سے تعلق کی عکاسی کرتی ہیں — جو اعتماد، اطاعت، اور امید سے لبریز ہے۔
پہلی آیت (285) ایک عظیم حقیقت کو بیان کرتی ہے:
“رسول ایمان لایا جو کچھ اس کے رب کی طرف سے اس پر نازل ہوا، اور مؤمنین بھی…”
یہ عقیدے کا اعلان ہے جو انفرادیت سے بلند ہو کر اجتماعیت اور روحانی وحدت میں ڈھل جاتا ہے۔
“ہم نے سنا اور اطاعت کی، اے ہمارے رب! ہمیں بخش دے، اور تیری ہی طرف لوٹ کر جانا ہے۔”
یہ اطاعت اور عجز کا اعلان ہے — جہاں عقل، دل، اور روح ایک ساتھ سجدہ ریز ہوتے ہیں۔
آخری آیت (286) رحمتِ الٰہی کا بے مثال اظہار ہے:
“اللہ کسی جان پر اس کی طاقت سے بڑھ کر بوجھ نہیں ڈالتا…”
یہ ہمیں یاد دلاتی ہے کہ ہر آزمائش ناپ تول کے ساتھ ہے، اور ہر تکلیف میں اللہ کی نظر اور مصلحت موجود ہے۔ یہ آیت ایک دعا کی صورت میں بہتی ہے — مغفرت، راہنمائی، اور ظلم سے نجات کی التجا۔
یہ دونوں آیات عہد بھی ہیں اور تسلی بھی — شب کی تنہائیوں میں پڑھی جانے والی دعا، اور کمزوری کے لمحوں میں روح کا سہارا۔ نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا: جو شخص رات کو یہ آیات پڑھے، وہ اس کے لیے کافی ہوں گی۔
