Surah Yousuf begins with the Qur’an presenting itself as a revelation of clarity and wisdom, before unfolding what it calls the most beautiful of stories. The narrative opens not with an event, but with a dream — a child’s vision of the sun, the moon, and eleven stars bowing — a sign of divine destiny that will only be understood through time, separation, and steadfast patience.
In the first artwork of this chapter, the artist translates that beginning into a visual language of contrast and discovery. The lower-left section moves into surrealism, evoking the uncertain terrain of dreams where meanings arrive as symbols rather than explanations. Surrounding this space, dense calligraphy and pattern gather like memory and prophecy, suggesting that Yusuf’s path is not accidental, but authored — guided by a wisdom that reveals itself gradually.
Across the five works in this series, the story of Prophet Yousuf (A.S.) is approached as a meditation on trust in the unseen plan of Allah: how hardship can carry hidden mercy, how delay can shape character, and how patience can become its own form of light. Ultimately, the chapter invites the reader to witness how trial is transformed into purpose, and how destiny, once only glimpsed in a dream, arrives with unmistakable clarity.
Framing is currently offered within Perth, Australia only. Because paper-cutting artworks are delicate and dimensional, framing is a little different to standard prints. I recommend a “floating” presentation, sandwiched between two pieces of glass so the artwork stays protected and visible from both sides.
If you’re in Perth, I can arrange framing and deliver to you. If you’re outside Perth, please message me with your location and I’ll share the best options and next steps.
Every artwork is an original, hand-crafted piece by Tusif Ahmad. Each order includes a signed authenticity card.
